Was it smart....?

He must know something we don't about where the Caps are going in the future, that's for sure. Anyway, people forget that a lot of the players can do things besides play hockey. I don't know his education history, but it's very possible that he either has had training in business and contract negotiations at some point, or he's smart enough to have learned by observation. If he has a good enough head on his shoulders to have negotiated himself a great contract, more power to him. Ovechkin's not my favorite player by any means, but I kinda like the idea that he broke the mold.
