Writing Music - Can I go places with it?

I've been releasing some original songs on Yahoo, getting great feedback! Thanks so much! Not a lot of people know me on here, maybe one, two if I'm lucky. But I love to write lyrics. Bluntly put, it keeps me sane. And I know it's so hard to get your music out there without a voice to back it up. As I don't have much of one. Some people have said that my music would be a hit, and I was just wondering if I could do anything to get it out there? Apart from releasing to Yahoo, (not that I don't love hearing the feedback :P)
